Doody Dodge

How to play

You control the jump. The runner handles the running.

Doody Dodge is a portrait endless runner for ages 13 and up. This guide explains the current gameplay rules while the app is in development. A public download is not available yet.

Tap when you are grounded

Make a fresh tap to jump from the ground or a supporting platform. You do not steer left or right. Your decision is when to jump, when to stay down, and when to prepare for the next landing.

  • One tap, one jump. Holding the screen does not produce repeated jumps.
  • Land before tapping again. An airborne tap is ignored rather than queued for the moment you touch down.
  • Look beyond takeoff. A jump that clears the first edge still needs a safe landing and room for what follows.

Read the space ahead

Gaps and spikes call for a well-timed jump. Overhead obstacles can call for staying low. Moving and triggered traps add another question: where will the obstacle be when you reach it?

Watch the obstacle itself and the available space. Jumping too early can bring you down before a gap ends; jumping under a low roof can put you into its underside. A platform can support a landing on top, while its sides and underside are dangerous.

Do not treat every piece of scenery as an obstacle. Focus on the route, the hazards and your landing. The changing sky and wildlife are background scenery; they do not award points or change your jump.

Base points and bonus points

A safely cleared obstacle earns 1 base point. For the deadline tiles and ground sensors that offer a bonus, activating the trap and then clearing it safely earns 1 base point + 1 bonus point = 2 total points. Avoiding activation still earns the base point when you clear the obstacle.

The bonus rewards a completed clearance, not simply touching a trigger. The obstacle that ends your run earns zero. Other obstacles you have safely passed keep their points.

The score shown in your results is the total of base and bonus points. The bonus is part of that score, rather than a separate score to compare.

Give the next attempt a clear start

After a run ends, review the result before choosing Retry. A tap used to finish the result presentation does not also start another run; Retry needs a fresh action. That gives you a moment to notice what caught you and approach the next run deliberately.

For your first attempts, aim for a safe landing before chasing every bonus. Once you recognize a trap, decide whether the extra point is worth the harder route.
